Recommended Maths Video Channels

A collection of recommended maths video channels suitable for both teaching and learning about secondary school mathematics. Compiled by Angela Kotsiras

reSolve: Maths by Inquiry

 reSolve: Maths by Inquiry is a national program that promotes relevant and engaging mathematics teaching and learning from Foundation to Year 10. It is a collaboration of the Australian Academy of Science and the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers.

The reSolve teaching resources aim to promote fluency, deep understanding, strategic problem solving, and mathematical reasoning.


FUSE

FUSE is an initiative of the Department of Education and Training of Victoria. All resources are aligned to the VIctorian curriculum.

A wealth of free resources can be found here for F-10 levels of mathematics as well as for other studies of the Victorian curriculum.

The Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute (AMSI)

AMSI is a collaborative non-profit organisation representing mathematical interests in Australia. AMSI works in three areas: research and higher education, school education, and engagement with the industrial and commercial world.

It supports mathematics educators and teachers through various activities and includes a collection of online modules designed to support teachers to further develop their mathematical background in selected topics.

Scootle

Scootle is a national repository that provides Australian schools with more than 20,000 free digital resources aligned to the Australian Curriculum. Resources for all levels of Mathematics can be found here

Black Star Maths

Black Star Maths

This is a free website created by David Isley, an engineering and maths teacher, for helping students learn and understand Years 7-12 Maths. There are 120 Knowledge modules at 6 levels. Each module covers one topic and contains explanations, practice exercises (with answers) and revision sets. There are also Skills modules for developing mental arithmetic and problem-solving skills.

Vic Maths Notes

Vic Maths Notes is a website produced by Alex Blanksby and is designed to provide students and teachers free access to summary notes, videos, questions, and interactives on content for Victorian Curriculum Mathematics from Year 7 through to Year 12.
 

Illustrative Mathematics

Illustrative Mathematics (based on US curriculum) provides a suite of math curricula, designed to encourage engaging mathematical discussion, supported by tasks, lesson plans, and professional learning. These are all available as open educational resources (OER) and free to access by anyone. 

 

TES Australia

TES provides a range of primary and secondary school teaching resources including lesson plans, worksheets and student activities for all curriculum subjects.

NRICH

NRICH is a collaboration between the Faculties of Mathematics and Education at the University of Cambridge, part of the University’s Millennium Mathematics Project.

NRICH provides thousands of free online mathematics resources for ages 3 to 18, covering all stages of early years, primary and secondary school education – completely free and available to all.

Resources are organised by mathematical topics
(based on the English NC).

The Mathslinks Network is produced by Simon Job and sign up is free as are all the resources shared on this site.
