Professional Background
I am an Australian educator with approximately 40 years of experience in secondary education, specialising in Mathematics teaching, curriculum development, educational leadership and academic enrichment. Throughout my career, I have held leadership positions including Head of Mathematics and Year Level Coordinator. My experience also includes VCE Mathematics assessment and advisory work.Initiative and Innovation
One of my greatest strengths is recognising opportunities and turning ideas into practical initiatives. I enjoy finding solutions, improving systems and bringing people together. I established the Maths Heads of Faculty Network (MathsHOF), connecting more than 260 Mathematics leaders, and founded MathsTeachersOnly.com to support the sharing of teaching resources and professional knowledge.Why I Created MathsTeachersOnly.com
Throughout my teaching career, I have recognised the value of sharing resources, experiences and ideas with colleagues. MathsTeachersOnly.com has been developed predominantly for Victorian secondary mathematics teachers, particularly those teaching Years 7–12 and VCE Mathematics, while also welcoming anyone interested in exploring and using the resources available. The website brings together free resources, contributions from colleagues, recommended books, teaching tools, academic competitions and links to educational organisations. My aim is to save teachers time and encourage professional collaboration.About the Resources
The collection includes materials I have sourced alongside resources generously contributed by colleagues. Some older materials, including handwritten resources, remain valuable for teaching and learning. With advances in AI, these can now be transformed into professionally presented digital documents, allowing teachers to adapt and reuse them more easily. Teachers should check resources against current curriculum requirements and verify the accuracy of any AI-assisted conversions.The Story Behind the Logo
I designed the MathsTeachersOnly logo myself, inspired by the idea of a hanging π symbol. The design reflects my longstanding connection with Mathematics and my desire to create a recognisable identity for the website.
The Story Behind My Pi Artwork
My interest in Mathematics extends beyond teaching and into creative design. I created geometric artwork inspired by the digits of π, originally using green and yellow tones. I later adapted the design to a more subtle grey version, which became part of the visual identity of MathsTeachersOnly.com. Visitors can also explore mathematical creativity through the Create Your Own Pi Artwork activity.
