About the competition
Maths Challenge, organised by the Australian Maths Trust, is a teacher-led mathematical problem-solving program that students complete over three to four weeks. Its extended problems encourage students to explore strategies, explain their reasoning and persevere with unfamiliar questions. Working individually or collaboratively, students develop confidence in mathematical thinking, while teachers can identify students whose potential may not be evident in routine classroom assessments.
