About the competition
Maths Talent Quest (MTQ), organised by the Mathematical Association of Victoria (MAV), encourages students to investigate a mathematical question or real-world situation. Rather than completing a timed examination, students explore ideas, apply mathematical reasoning, and communicate their findings through an investigation. Schools may undertake investigations as part of their teaching program and nominate selected work for state judging.
